This project is for my sister. We are exact opposites and when we were younger it made it very hard to get along. However as we grew up we learned that we could really relie on each other for our strengths and weaknesses. And whenever we had a problem we would emedietly go to eachother and just talk. Unfortunetly I cant graduate with her, so after 2014 I wont have my sister right by my side. We will still be there for eachother even though I'll be four hours away. This project is to remind her that I will alway be her big sister and I will always be there for her. No matter how far away I am.
So this is my face surrounded by card bored and taped. I had to use seranrap instead of a swimmers cap to keep my hair back because I am allergic to latex. Then put my face in a ruff card bored cut out and taped the edges. That way the plaster wont seep down into the cracks and wont get into my hair.

The same thing was done with my sister, however she could use the swimmers cap. Also the reason our eyes are so glossy is because Vaseline was put on them and out eye brows. To keep our lashes from getting stuck in the plaster and ripping off when we take the mold off.
|
This is the outcome of the plaster molds, I had to mix more plaster and pore it into the negative mold of my face to get this positive mold. Then I had to wack around the sides to get it out.
|
So the stows were put into our noses to breath and then plaster was pored onto out faces. The plaster being pored on was weird and made everything turn blue. Cloth was placed on the first layer to keep the mold from braking,

The two sister masks together.
This is the two masks and the board. parts of each mask were incorporated into the lettering and the infinity symbol. The word forever was done in a similer color to the base of the dark colored mask, and then highlighted with the undertone of pink in the light colored mask. Your Sister was done by doing the revurse of this style. And then the infinity symbol used the wind element and the underplayed nature element. The symbol cemented the idea that these two sisters are united, for infinity.
