The Gambler
The Gambler is an art project about a short story I wrote and really liked. The story is twisted and about lies and disete. I thought that it would inspire a grate art piece. I suggest you read the story to understand the piece more. I'll try not to give anything away. Just so that no one can skip to the end,
I painted the background two different reds and then streaked purples and blues onto the board. After I splattered red and yellow to give it more depth.

I added purple splatters to tie the background to gether better. Then I sprinkled clean and dirty sand around the rim. A play on the sands of time.
|
In order to get the sand to stick I painted a mix of glue and water over it, and continued to do layers of this as I made the boarder. I wanted it to look like you were peering onto something, so triangles of light were cut pointing in, drawing your eyes to the center. There color pattern of the boarder is white yellow, some orange and red is the base, so that the "hottest" light is closer to you, spreading and consuming.
|
In the boarder are three light Birds of Paradise , they are supposed to be the being in the light showing him the truth of his actions. They also help to brake up the boarder a bit. I don't want it to have a legitimate frame, just the encompassing light evfect
